canon s2 is questions

I am seriously considering buying this cam. i just read spins post about the tele-converter and was amazed. i didnt even know they made this. I have also heard some of you say that the 12x optical will come out blurry.so my question is should i buy this cam or not. also do you know if there are any other cool adapters for this cam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

a few people on this board either have it or used it in the past or still have it and have upgraded to a better m0del. the zoom is really good on that but try not to zoom in too much as it could blur things. a lil bit is ok. if you get it, it'll be a lot of fun. the swivel lcd on that is soo cool

I have the S2is and the teleconverter TC-DC58B 1.5X, the camera is great, it brilliant for both macro and super macro work, and the 12x optical zoom is great, good picture quality. When you add teh teleconverter you lose alot of quality. At full zoom you get a sort of 3d image that youll need the dodgy specs to view. I recommend buying the camera but not the adapter

The Camera is Awsum! Don't buy any after market 2.0X Tele-Converter lenses. They don't match up w/ the curve of the canon lens. Pics come out blurry the more from the center you go. Stick w/ Canon products. Above post is true. You lose a bit of quality w/ the tele converter. Otherwisw the camera is fantastic.

I've heard lots of good things about this cammy.

I'd also stay away from the teleconverters. Like the guys say, it really degrades the quaility.

I mean, it's a 12x zoom, so that's gonna get you pretty close anyway.

I have the S2 IS and I'm very pleased with it

All my threads (click here) are taken with the S2, so you can see for yourself if the quality is good enough.

I've never used the extra lens before though...
But the camera reaches pretty far with the 12x zoom.

Maybe you should try it out in a store first, but I think it's a great camera!

thanks guys. i just got the cam. still trying to figure out all the different modes and stuff. but i am impressed with the clarity of the cam. cant wait to post some pics!
