Technically speaking 350D is way better than D50, anyway a comparision wuld be Canon 350D and Nikon D70 or D100

Of,... specs time...

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/page21.asp

Many people is talking about the XTīs size,... the only thing about the size of the XT is just a matter of using it.

I donīt think you will leave all the great features Canon EOS 350d gives you over the Nikon D70 just for a finger,... Iīm not a little person and it feels good, I bought the grip and I have nothing to say... itīs excelent

IMHO go with the Canon,... but this is like Chevrolet or Ford...

Good luck

hope this helps

I'm a Nikon D70 guy, but I'd probably recommend the Canon. I think there are more great lens offerings and maybe they are better priced? That said, I did like my D100 and am very happy with my D70. Spend money on a great lens, that's more important IMO.

hey, can you tell me the secrets too!!!!

raz, i have had the 350d for about 2 months now, and i can say that i am extremely happy with it. the size is not an issue cuz it is my first dslr and i am used to smaller cams anyway. i also own an old rebel g film cam and it is about the same size.........

i highly recommend it, but i really don't have a point of comparison like the d50 or d70. i do think that whichever you choose you will be happy........

I recommend you the Canon one. I do own it and I'm very happy with light and heavy lenses, on static and "wild" photography. If you have big hands, there is a battery grip which makes the body more suitable and does not leave your little finger alone. (so you don't need to cut it off )

Anyway, the body is not as important as the lens are. Canon EOS 350D and Nikon D70 are good enough when working with a good lens.
So we'll wait you ask here for "this or that lens" sooner or later
