Canon 20D Question

Hello all,

I've got a 20D for a couple of weeks to try it out as a replacement for my old D60.

I don't have the manual available and instead of searching through a giant pdf version online I figured I'd ask the gang.

I took some shots with it yesterday and just now tossed them in PS. When I inspect the "Images Size" they are all at 72dpi

I had the settings on the highest JPEG. Any ideas?

All the images out of my D60 are 180dpi. The more the merrier and I'd crank that up if I could too.

Thanks!

I don't know how different 20D is to 30D, but 30D doesn't seem to have any setting to adjust that on camera.

OK...I'm a little groggy, so excuse me if I'm totally wrong. But isn't the DPI setting something basically controlled in the post processing? I think most prints are processed at 300 dpi--but isn't that all handled through Photoshop?

I would say yes, it is done in post process. And must admit, was kinda amazed it could be adjusted in any camera...

Yup. Okay.

Sorry for taking up everyone's time on this, especially those who replied.

I found what I needed through a "giant search engine" search.

For those of you who responded here we go...

Sorry for being dumb!

Also it's dependent upon cameras.

The general dpi or dots per inch is set by camera body. The D30 is a professional grade camera by canon while the 20d is a prosumer type camera. You'll get more general dpi with their one time top of the line, d30 cause it was geared towards those who would need them.

Changing dpi is pretty simple, as simple as going to image>size and change it that way.
