A Night On The Square

Right now, I'm finding that I feel more attached to photos I took back in the summer of '03 than those from last year . . . Maybe it's because that was when I got my first digital camera and I had just discovered that there were OTHER people who liked shooting candids and I joined a YAHOO! group setting out to prove myself while at the same time trying new stuff, like butt shots, for instance . . . All I can remember is that I was totally psyched and I thought I could do almost anything with that camera!

This set is a good example: There was a concert in the park and night was falling, but darkness wasn't gonna stop me from trying to shoot some honeys. I can remember being real proud of myself because this was one of my first attempts at noise reduction, too . . . Looking back at them, they were BAD - chrominance up the ying-yang! I'd NEVER try anything like that NOW! But at the same time, I'm glad I took them because they help me remember how infatuated I was with some of these girls . . . And since it was all new, I can forgive myself and simply enjoy . . .

I'll shut-up now and see if anyone can relate . . .

Those are some fashionable "Old City/Society Hill"-type chicks...way out of my league. I too hold a special place in my heart for my first attempts at candid photography. It's nice to learn from your mistakes and track your progress.

It's kinda cool to see shots like this and see the development of the photographer. I usually cringe looking at my old stuff (and some of the new stuff too!) but every once in a while you run into something that works.

I like those first two shots...the lighting, the see through. Very intriguing.

WOW, that is Rittenhouse Square isn't it......do they still have that small gezebo looking thing there, I don't remember it from when I was there last year.....I know they remodled the place since 2003.........

NICE to see these pics man, very nice stepping (COBBLE) stone.......

I like those Asian girls with the high shoes......and it is always nice to see a pic and remember EVERYTHING that came along with it.......it DOES bring us back to everything we felt at the time sometimes including actually SMELLING what we smelled at that time........its WILD man........I know EXACTLY what you are talkin about!

and thanks for showin me a part of what I missed back in '03
