I must tell this story: I am NATIVE AMERICAN. Plenty of folks mistake me for being mexican/latino. I used to work as a framing carpenter, I've helped build houses, townhomes, etc etc.

On one row of townhomes I was working on this older guy came by and was snooping around. I could tell he didnt like what he saw. He came up to me and started bitching about something not being right. Here's where it gets funny. I just looked at him with a blank look and said "No Habla English". Old boy gives ME a blank look........ and stalks off! LMAO! What else could he say? He thought I spoke no english!!

I wonder if those guys u work with know more english than they let on.

Are you one of those people who say english should be our "Official Language"?

DEFINITELY!!!!! This is America, in the 21st century. It's not 1910 anymore. Alot of the innocence and the hard working people trying to get their family to a new free world is long gone. It's a different world now. There is only room for one language here, there is only room for one flag here, there is only room for Americans!!! If someone comes here and they are allowed to stay and become citizens, then they must learn OUR language. Be loyal to our country, the country that is keeping them free. Adopt and live our way of life. It is getting way too out of control with the open door policy this country has evolved into, and that is one of the reasons, and will be one of the reasons this country gets taken down, is because there are too many people coming here, trying to force their ideals and ways of life into a society that doesn't live like they are used to. But yet, they use our philosophies, and our ways of life, for example: Freedom of Speech, to speak out about how they are offended by the mention of God, and they shouldn't have to be exposed to it. BULLSHIT!! They're allowed to practice their faith while they're here and we don't say anything about that, so if they don't like what some of the people are about in this country, they have to go about their own ways, or leave and go to another country that they can dictate their rules to. There are people here who want only their way of life, not ours, AND IT'S OUR COUNTRY!!!! And it seems as though they are trying their damndest to bring us down. They are here trying to take away our rights. The rights and freedoms that thousands and thousands of servicemen have died for down through the years to help protect. The co-workers of Vitahappy speaking in their native language is just the tip of the iceberg, the problems we are having go much deeper than that in this country. Just my opinion man, and I'm entitled to that just like you and everyone else on this Board and in this country are entitled to: your own opinion.

Yeah, and a large % of those servicemen serving the US right now are minorities. People that speak the spanish language and others. They are fighting for you as well as America. They have the right to live as they please, speak the language they want to, and have their right to be as they want PROTECTED.

I am a Latino, and I'll be damned if I have someone tell me I can't speak my own language with others of my race. Freaking RIDICULOUS!

And Vitahappy, you are chinese and you have the balls to discriminate against hispanics? I can't count the times when I've come across a group of chinese people and cannot understand a word they say. But I dont care..I dont get in their business. I dont hate them for that. Dont be so insecure, if they are talking shit about you..stand up to them just like you would another chinese guy or another white guy. Don't build up hate.

i didnt mean to offend anybody. i guess you guys are right. they dont need to learn something new if it aint necessary. from now on, i'll just work and ignore them like what i have been doing.

I never said anything went out of style. I was stating that it's no longer the early 1900's, where we didn't have to worry about who was coming onto our shores like you do today.
