Car show advice

This weekend there is going to be an indoor car show in my city.

I have never shot a car show before.

Any special advice is welcome! i really want to get decent shots.

Definitely use flash. Is this a car show with models? If so, no problems. Even if it's just your basic car show, there are usually so many cameras around you won't even be noticed.

If you don't have a flash, keep the ISO up as high as you can (400 should be good).

Iso as high as possible? I know that lowlight shooting is a about finding the balance between shutterspeed, aperture and iso. But 400 seems a bit high to me, especially with a flash. Please explain it to me.

use flash!!! but make sure you're not too far away so the light reaches them. test things out and see how things go. moving up the iso would be ideal as well.

Shooting with ISO400 really depends on the camera used. Going ISO400 with my Panasonic would ruin every shot, because it adds up so much noise. ISO200 is max you can go with it, if that isn't enough (combined with image stabilizer and flash), I usually stop shooting. However, I don't have slightest idea how noisy your Fuji's cell is. Try different settings out before you go as Vita advised.

Most newer Digital cameras have excellent noise control at ISO400... I think you should be fine for indoor shooting with Flash.

i shot at an inddor car show a couple weeks ago (HIN), and I really wish I had had an external flash for this. I ended up buying a new one afterwards (my old one broke).

I ended up using my 50mm all night and shot at 400 with the internal flash. the auto focus was spotty, so i had to manually focus, which was really tough. again, the external flash with the auto focus assist light would really have helped.

also, i should have shot in RAW. if you ahve that option, i would use it!!
