New to Candid Photos... Comments Please

Hey there everyone. I've been following this site for the past two weeks since I found it, there are some cool posts and the comments are fun to read. I'm new to candid photos so please reply with comments and suggestions. I'm also intersted in the challenges section which not too many people post in, I'm up for it though!!

Its winter here, so no beach shots... summers coming!

Welcome to the board! It's alway nice to see new shooters.

I have to say, you're off to a very good start. For one thing, you're already shooting frontals. A lot of us--me included--started with butt shots and worked our way to the frontals. So...you're already ahead of the game.

Now remember, you said you were open to suggestions. So take what I (and others who chime in) write as just that--suggestions. Definitely not meant to be critical or written in a mean way!

The first thing you need to work on is trying to fill the frame with your subject. While you do have some cool backgrounds, they tend to overtake the focal point of your shots (which of course is the women!) This will come in time--the more you practice, the better you'll get at it.

In the meantime, try cropping your shots. This will bring your subjects to the forefront instead of them being lost in the background scenery. In time and with practice, you'll find you won't even need to crop that much! (I added a very quick sample of what I'm talking about--I cropped it and sharpened it a bit--but trust me when I say I'm not really an expert!)

I see you've already got Photoshop...play around with it. Use the "unsharp mask" under "filters", and play around with the settings.

And one final piece of advice--these files are huge! When saving them, use a setting of 6 or 7. Nobody will notice the difference in quality, and the files will load much faster.

And the "challenges" section? Be prepared. I think you'll see a lot of fun stuff in there once the weather gets better.

Clinton you you can use Gimp 2.0 it's free and as powerfull as adobe ps and it almost looks like it to. google it and you'll find it.

I like how your camera captures the colors
and the cute girls you captured as well.
Nice pics for being new to this hobby.

Participation in the challenge section of the forum
will pick up pretty soon. Everyone loves a challenge.

I have some ideas for that section but hey,
I have to win before I can suggest the next challenge.

Anyway, the frontal shots are working. Kudos on that. I think its a real good start for Ched. Just remember to be safe. I always watch my back first. From there you just practice and touch-up techniques as you go along. Good luck

Hey Clinton, try using www.********.com to search for software, and www.cracks.am for serials and cracks...
