I was less interested in how the DSLR works (although I think I have a pretty good idea) and more interested why there would only be labor in fixing the camera and no parts. Is it just a simple spring that has worn out? Are they just to lazy to list the parts they are actually replacing?

Anyway, the bad news is that the status on the camera didn't change until today from "Estimate" to "Accepted", so I have a very bad feeling that it won't be back in time for this weekend, which bites. The weekend the blue angles come to town has always been sort of the semi-offical end of the "season" for me. I will still be out there, but I won't be getting as much as I would if I had the 20D with me.

The first rain of the season is going to happen tonight/tomorrow, which is sort of depressing. Living in California, there is still opportunities to shoot on those sunny days (because it never really gets colder than about 50 during the day, usually it is in the low 60's), but summer time is still the best.
