Free software to watermark photos

Hi folks,

I just stumbled on this board and like what I see so far. I have a small collection of original candids that I've taken over the last 3 years -- some with a lower quality 3MP Olympus, but last year some nice HQ pics with my Nikon 8700.

I'm going to set up my account here and start posting. I've posted very, very sporadically over the last few years over at the candidboard, so I'd be suprised and impressed if anyone recognizes any.

But before I start to make any posts, I'd like to watermark my images like I see so many other posters doing now. Can anyone recommend a free program that will let me do this quickly and easily?

Irfanview is a good free editor, and can insert text into a picture. I don't know if it'll do anything fancier though.

k-lab watermark

you can add text, jpeg, png, gif, even animated gif.

Excellent point-to on that program, SB...I'll be trying it out. Always good to have great freeware prog's like that saved for use down the road.

Thanks for the tips guys. Pegman gave me one via a PM that I used -- Eyebatch. It's shareware, so I'll see how it goes. I also d/l'ed the K-lab software so will play around with that as well.
