I am ready to buy an ultra-compact camera and after reading numerous reviews,
have narrowed it down to these two. Anyone here have experiences with either one, or any advice at all on which I should choose? Another question also,
is about the shutter speed; the Nikon only goes to 1/350 sec, whereas the Sony goes to 1/1000 sec.; is this going to be much of a problem trying to shoot candids, especially if someone is moving at all?

Sorry....I don't know much about either camera...but a higher shutter speed can definately
be a good thing...esp at longer zoom lengths...or if your subject is moving...or you are
moving or a little shakey while taking the pic...if you just had to choose based on shutter
speed...I would go with the higher shutter speed of the sony...but like i said...I do not
know enough about either camera to give you a solid recommendation.

I don't know about these cams either, but I agree with SnJ, you need to be able to shoot at higher speeds......BUT then again on a compact like these they probably have NO opticle zoom.....check out http://www.steves-digicams.com/ This site is VERY usefull in choosing.....Personally I like the Canons SD Series in the compacts...
