Hi guys,
I just stumbled into this place a few day ago via the CandidO emag, I didn't
even know this place existed before. I've lurked The Other Board for some time
but I did make an effort to leave feedback to the posts that I liked. (I'm a bit
behind on the feedback here because I kind of went on a browsing spree when I first logged
on!).

I've always had a thing for candids; many years before Al Gore invented the Internet I ran
around with an Olympus 35 mm and 200 mm lens and snagged a few, but dealing with film was
always a hassle and expensive so it never really took off for me. But a couple or so years ago
I bought a Nikon Coolpix 4500 and the candid bug hit again hard, and with the swivel body
design it was easy to get in close and have fun taking well aimed hip level shots. Still I
never posted anything.......

Well, even though I still have the Coolpix I couldn't help notice how good
the pics were getting from the folks who had the big cams and DSLRs, but
always held back from getting one because they did not use a swivel body or
LCD viewer like my old cam did and I really liked the stealth type shooting
it provided.

To make a long story shorter, after a lot of research and thinking about trying a different
shooting style I finally decided to bite the bullet and got a Nikon D70 and equipped it with a
Nikon 70-300 mm lens, figuring that the telephoto ability would make up for the camera's
increased visibility. After my first day out with the cam all I could say is Holy Freakin
Crap, this setup is awesome! It was like re-discovering photography all over again! The pics
were bigger and clearer, the cameras' metering, speed, sensitivity, and power consumption all
vastly better, and the telephoto lens was putting subjects that were previously ridiculously
out of range into full frame!

So now I'm finally getting some pics I really like and would like to start
sharing them. As far as my shooting preferences I'm pretty much open to anything interesting,
but I'm definitely a boob man and also have a special liking for women a little more on the
mature side. I've still got to get the hang on some of the posting and post processing
issues but hopefully that'll get better with time. The reason I've decided to start posting
here is because I like the environment better; I really don't want to be associated with a
place that hosts aggressively invasive and nude pics, it's not my thing.

Nuff said for now, see you in the forums.

glad to see ya here dude.

i started the same way as you, with 35mm, but that was way too $$ and getting developed was always interesting. thank god for digital cameras!!!

i even have a few old slides of vacation pics from wheni was a kid, like 12 or 14, and there are some candids mixed in, so i have been at this for a while too.

keep it up and post some pics!!!!!!!!

All the Nikon users are coming out of the closet (so to speak). Heh heh. Where's Mort?

Nice to see you here. You've already made quite an impression on the community. Hope to have you around for a good long time.
