Interesting read.
Sad and unfortunate. It will for sure put a hamper on some of our over seas shooters.

If you read some of the links...I think it put's a damper
on us all....It's a camera .. not a gun, but if I was carrying
a gun it would be ok?
I just wanted to bring this to your attention because in another Forum Teach'n Learn it was suggested that this place was a good place for candids in UK.

That's right: it WAS a good place to shoot, specially at the fountain on
Trafalgar Square. It was sooooo easy to shoot wet girls in that fountain, that
to much people has started to hang around there.

Ahhh shit :( I was planning a trip to this place possibly. I havent shot any candids this year, and was hoping to have a day in london. But I guess it isnt going to happen after reading this. I saw some images on here and it looked about the most perfect place to shoot. :(

Don't believe the hype, millions of tourists visit the UK and London each year. As most of them will be packing a camera and visiting landmark sites/tourist attractions, its reasonable to assume that millions of pics wil be taken. You only have to read about the masssive sales in digital cams throughout the world.
The authorities would not be able or want to stop and question every cam packing tourist seen snapping in public. As with most things in life, idiot situations happen but don't let this put you off. Take your cam and enjoy yourself:thumbup:

I think as long as the police dont see you shooting directly at kids, you should be fine.
I will shoot a kid if they are doing something special.... cops and kids together are always great shots, interesting enough. But I usually steer clear of shooting in the same direction as any young people.
So fire away I say.

This from the most heavilly surveilled city in the world and where cops were busted selling "candid" videos of women captured on city surveillance cameras.
Somewhere Eric Blair is either smiling or crying...

Well I got stopped by the cops and searched once (well they searched my cam) because I was suspected of shooting kids! Of course my mistake was shooting in area where kids were, but it seems now kids are everywhere. I guess I will have to make sure from now on, when ever I see a kid (no matter) where they are, put my cam down. It seems people will report you, if there are 20 other people standing around and your camera is facing in an area with one kid. I think its more common for you to get busted because of some do gooder though, who calls the cops and reports you than a cop actually spotting you.
