A while back I went shooting downtown and saw these honeys passing out flyers for the grand opening of a new bowling alley and sports bar.

They were even advertising on the am radio sports talk shows. And did a live broadcast on the #1 sports talk radio show here in the MHC. So me and my buddies were hyped to go check the place out and bowl a few games, have a few brews, play some pool and watch the Nuggets.

We get there and some wanna be bouncer tells me I cant go in cuz my fubu jeans were too baggy. I wasnt sagging and every stitch of clothing I had on was brand new purchased the day before. I notify him of this fact and he points to this sign and says sorry dog it ait up to me.

Me and my friends have come across this before. We call it the anti-Black dress code. But this place is too extreme especially since they are trying to come off as a sports bar. Its obvious to me who they only want to come in there. Now am I being unreasonable?

I say everybody should boycott that joint until they finally realize how ridiculous some of their "rules" are. Nice shot of the honeys, by the way.

This is too comical!

No athletic wear?? I wouldn't say bowling is Extremely phsical, but it is a sport... don't you need athletic wear to play sports?

And no chains?? HaHa they must have tons of cash in the bank to keep the lights on, 'cause they just eliminated... about what? 70-80% of the population!

And the biggest - like Gonja said - no sports jerseys allowed in the sports bar - Comedy at its best!

Just call Jesse or someone at the NAACP

This is some raciest ass shit. Classist at best.

The free market will undoubtably eliminate such atrocities.

I'd like to see this:

During the next Nuggets game, get some white guy try to get in wearing a jersey of Nikoloz Tskitishvili (if they even make such a jersey. But he's the only white guy on the Nuggets.) Then, have somebody try to get in wearing a Carmelo Anthony jersey. See if they're consistent with these dumb ass rules.

They arent consistent. It was never supposed to be consistent. I never made it past the sign but through the window I saw people at the pool table wearing stuff on that list.
I could have made an arguement right then but when you get rejected like that, and its obvious they dont want you there, it just makes me never want to bother with them at all ever again. We just went to our usual spot and talked shit about them.
I think the goal of the dress code is so they can pick and choose who they want in there. That is why it is so broad and rediculous. They arent consistent at all with this code. They act like its not even there when the desireables come it. But when the undesireables come in the big mean bouncer pionts out the dress code.

Here is the number to lucky strike lanes here in denver if anyone wants to let them know how their dress code has effected how you will do business with them. (303)629-9090

That is freaking ridiculous! You should open your own place and put a sign like that out saying: No khaki's, the whiteman overbite dance not allowed, no mullets, no chains on wallets (add more here)...... hahaha

You know what tho....... I predict some fool will prolly say in this thread: "Well it IS their business, they can make their own rules" blah blah. That way they can say that it's not racist. BS!

that is NOT anti-black ...other kinds and group of people wear chains and bandannas and stuff.....it is a bowling ally a lot of teen-agers hang-out there and there could be a fight that brakes out at anytime because that stuff that the young punks wear have meaning and symbol to them...!!! then are trying to run a nice and quite bussiness and they don't want no trouble from no one if they can make a dress code than they can

have you hear of dave&busters they have a dress code ... it is not anti-black.....

some restuarants want you to wear a sports jacket in them...is that anti-poor people then

there is nothing anti-black about those rules. you posted this same stupid thread on another board. You are now eligible for VICTIM of the Month Award. In los angeles where I live it is entirely common for establishments to have dress codes like this. Most often the people it effects are hispanic and asians. You should have said "anti-black, anti-hispanic, anti-asian and anti-M&M wannabe's" . Take off your VICTIM goggles and try looking at the world in a different way. Your mind has been poisened by a leadership bent on creating generation after generation of victims, so as to ensure a need for said leadership to exploit and profit off of your own misery and supposed victimization.
