Just wondering if anyone on here has cleaned the sensor on their 20D and if they can give me some advice on how to do it "right". I'd rather not have to send it back, and I am computer tech by profession, so I am used to working on electronics.

Anyway, help, what do I need to do this correctly? What should I absolutely avoid?

Thanks for all of your help!

Use a warm soapy bath. It's the best way.

get a desolder bulb from radio shack

set the cam to sensor clean
and use that bulb as a blower to dust off the sensor

if the dust particle is to sticky for the blower
youll have to use a streak free solvent and a non abrasive cloth on a stick
to wipe it clean

here's a resource outlining the current methods of sensor cleaning:

I have a question..

why do your inards get so dirty?

are you guys changing lenses during sandstorms?.....

lol

also....since all your goodies are exposed....

dont forget to clean your lenses, the lense caps and body caps.

it sucks to take a shower and put on dirty clothes afterwards.
