Technique: How do you move?

When I’m out shooting I walk around a lot. What about you?

How do you move when you’re out shooting?
Do you move around and walk lots?
Or do you stay in one area?

Do you stay in the open? Or keep out of sight?

What’s your technique?
What do you think is a good technique?

I used to stalk my subjects but i found everyone gave me funny looks since I was crawling on my hands and knees so now I just walk. :dry:

i walk around quite a bit when i am out there. once in awhile, when i see a cute girl(s) standin around at some spot, i stick around for a few minutes and well, you know what i do;)

all the walkin gives me good excerise too

for me it depends on the venue

vibe wise
sometimes its a good idea to keep moving
some shoots will allow for you to mushroom

productivity wise
its sometimes best to mushroom at a traffic nexus
other times its more productive to actively roam and seek out oportunities

i dont think you can make a general rule about movement
other than: dont linger if you sense a bad vibe

i agree dp. when i go to the parks, i have places i like and will stay there a little and then move on to other spots. at parades i stay at the same spot the whole day, and at the beach it is constant motion.

so it really does depend on the situation. my key is that if i feel that i have stayed in one place too long, i probably have....... :)

hahah stuff! thats funny! I would say the general rule to movement pretty much goes with what DP was saying, That it is all Situational Dependant......and that when vibes get negative, leave or change your presence...

Like mr president, I shoot most of the time from the hip ... so I stay also in the same spot if everything feels allright.
