posting spam free using imageshack

i noticed the recent reminder by CC about links to porn and spam. which i totaly agree with.

here's a little tip on how to get around all that using imageshack.
i don't think there's porn at imageshack, but this cleans up the spam in the post.


here's the screen shot you see after uploading a pic.
notice the Direct link to image line is highlighted.
copy that to use for the direct image link and the thumbnail.

here's how you set up the thumbnail linking to the image.

for this example the [ ] characters will be replaced with the { } characters.

the direct image url is in green

{url=http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2065/img33956kd.jpg}{img}http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2065/img33956kd.th.jpg{/img}{/url}

note for the thumbnail part of the code all i did was add the .th just before the .jpg in the direct image link.

here's the results.

this gives you a thumb with a direct link to the pic. this avoids the spam and saves you an extra click since large images are resized. ;)

don't forget to use the [ ] characters and not the { } characters

this doesn't work for imagevenue because they don't allow hotlinking directly to the image.
