i have a nikon d50 and i was wondering what af or metering do i set it to to have two or more subjects infocus. something like a portrait or group photo

Okay here I am, probably should use S=single servo AF. Just focus on one of the faces, keep shutter butom press half way down to lock the focus, then recompose with both people or group and press shutter rest of the way. If you use AF-C when you move to recompose the focus bracket will probably fall between the two people and refocus behind them unless you use the separate focus lock. Hope this helps.
