Now this actually happened back on the 23rd at the 1st ever Country Music Festival in Brooklyn. It was at SouthPaw and B-Star, among others, were performing. Check them out here B-Star.net (http://www.b-star.net/)

My Canon 10D is FUBAR for AutoFocus. And to make matters worse, it's still sending out a beam, so something is F*#ked with the internal processor.

I am hanging out today and tomorrow in Philly and I am stuck with my 1st generation D Rebel. Which is not quite as quick as the 10D. Sorry for complaining, I shouldn't having 2 options to begin with and all.

But you people are the only ones that will understand my frustration.

Olympus,

I never had a problem with my D70 itself, did you try getting it fixed or do you have the latest / greatest firmwre upgrade? The only trouble I had was a lexar 2G card that was bad and would jam up until I got a replacement from lexar for free. The only way I figured it out was when I ran a card test program that came with the lexar card. Before that I thought the camera was screwing up since it would just jam up before the card was full.

Snapshotz,

I think the big point here is always have a backup camera! Whenever I have to travel to go to an event, I always bring a backup for everything, since its common to have touble or near misses.

I dropped my flash on concrete (cracked but still worked); lost a video light when it fell off in the MartiGras crowd and I didn't know it; dropped a wide angle video lens when it came loose and I didn't realize it, (it would have cracked for sure if it didn't land on a wood platform I was standing on at a bar); had my nikon lens slammed against a poll when this girly leaped past me (it would have broke for sure if the hood didn't absorb the impact. I really should test it with a resolution chart since I'm still not totally sure it wasn't effected); had numerous beers/various drinks spilled on my SLR's (ok some where my own, but just a few); had everything rained on.

My main logic is when ever I upgrade, I keep the old one. If I upgrade 2 times, then I sell the first one so I never have more than 2 of one item. (digital cameras are like computers. No matter how much you pay for them, eventually they will have the same value as a doorstop)

(By the way, I only sell stuff that is worth selling and always make sure buyer knows what they are getting down to the last scratch...)

A backup is prob the most important thing to bring with you, heck yeah!!!!!

I haven't gotten it looked at yet, but as soon as I can get to the one place to bring it (Bergen Camera) I will. Hopefully it wont be too costly....

I know this was a while ago but I forgot about the fat that I was pissed, I am getting used to the dRebel...... Even though it's slow as heck!
